No Surgery for Daisy

At least not for at least six to eight weeks. Daisy went back to Knoxville for x-rays and her second surgery on Monday. After driving two hours in the snow and poor Daisy vomiting all over herself from being carsick, we were told we have to wait a minimum of six to eight additional weeks for surgery on her left leg.

There was a miscommunication after the first surgery. We were told there would be a two month recovery period between procedures. However, the surgeon did not tell us that the surgery on her elbow could take three to four months to heal.

As of now the plan is to have more x-rays in six weeks. If those look good, we will schedule the surgery for the end of March.

Please continue to keep Daisy in your thoughts and prayers. While she is off strict crate rest, she is not allowed to play with other dogs or run off leash. It's not easy for such a young pup to stay calm and confined for so long.

I am glad that Daisy doesn't have to spend all her time in the crate now. It must be really hard on her not to be able to run and play. Here's hoping that the next set of x-rays show that she can have her second surgery in March.

How nice that Daisy has freedom from her crate. I bet she is enjoying that time, even if she is on leash.
Take care Daisy, stay well.

Oh, we're sorry about the delay. Poor Daisy. Being carsick is no fun!

We hope she will do well and be ready for the next surgery according to schedule.
